Staking Points of reference

Today Brian, one of Rod Whitman's team members, was out at the farm early to stake the Tees and Greens.  Then over the course of this next week we will start mowing what will become the fairways.  We eagerly look forward to having this visual and the first unofficial trial runs of the play:)  Anybody up for a game of free farmer's golf?

As of 4:30 on May 28th there were no appeals submitted in reponse to our Development Permit Approval.  The time has now expired.  Following this Rocky View County sent us the following conditions to the Permit which require completion befor the Permit is actually issued:

Very pleased to have this firm working on our Wetland Assessment this morning.  This assessment evaluates the existing wetland so that it is monitored and steps can be taken to protect it from damage when we develop the golf course.  If we damage it or make is smaller we will be required to pay $$$ to Ducks Unlimited.  We should have their findings to post next week.

Revised design & layout

I have just posted the revisions to the Lodge's design.  It is now more compact and utilizes space more efficiently.  There are also some changes to the golf course layout as well as plans for landscaping, parking, etc.  Have a look - these are all on the 'Design & Layout' tab of the website.

We submitted the documents for the Development Permit on Thursday.

We are really proud of our golf course designer Rod Whitman who was the designer of Cabot Links (Cape Breton Island, NS). Cabot Links was named "Development of the Year 2012" by Golf Inc. magazine.

After our Re-designation Hearing I was surprised to learn that one of the County Councillors did not understand our location or the options available for driving to our facility.  He blogged ". . . and if people want to drive on 8 km of poor gravel road to play golf, so be it."  Unfortunately at least 2 of the local papers decided to rerun this mis-information without checking facts. We did it! 7 to 2!
